About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Junior Frappe Framework Developer to join our software development team. The candidate will work on developing, customizing, testing, and maintaining business applications using the Frappe Framework and related technologies.
This role is suitable for freshers or developers with up to 2 years of experience who have a strong foundation in Python, JavaScript, databases, and web application development and are interested in building applications using Frappe/ERPNext.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain applications using the Frappe Framework.
- Create and customize DocTypes, Forms, Reports, Workflows, Print Formats, and Web Pages.
- Develop server-side functionality using Python.
- Develop client-side functionality using JavaScript.
- Create and consume REST APIs and integrate third-party services when required.
- Work with MariaDB/MySQL databases and write basic SQL queries.
- Customize and extend existing Frappe/ERPNext functionality based on business requirements.
- Debug application issues and identify root causes.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Perform unit testing and functional testing of developed features.
- Participate in code reviews and follow development standards.
- Work with Git for source-code management.
- Collaborate with senior developers, QA engineers, and functional/business teams.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
- Document technical changes and application customizations.
Required Skills
- 0–2 years of experience in software development.
- Good knowledge of Python.
- Good understanding of JavaScript.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web technologies.
- Understanding of REST APIs and JSON.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Git and version control.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Willingness to learn the Frappe Framework and ERPNext ecosystem.
Frappe Framework Knowledge
Candidates with exposure to any of the following will be preferred:
- Frappe Framework architecture and application structure.
- DocTypes and DocType relationships.
- Client Scripts and Server Scripts.
- Python-based server-side methods.
- JavaScript form scripting.
- Reports and Query Reports.
- Print Formats.
- Workflows and permissions.
- REST API and whitelisted methods.
- Background jobs and scheduled tasks.
- Frappe hooks and custom applications.
- Bench commands and basic Frappe deployment concepts.
Freshers who have completed academic, internship, or personal projects using Frappe/ERPNext are encouraged to apply.
Good to Have
- Experience with ERPNext.
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Ubuntu.
- Familiarity with Frappe Bench.
- Experience with MariaDB.
- Knowledge of Vue.js or other frontend frameworks.
- Understanding of Docker and deployment concepts.
- Exposure to GitHub/GitLab and CI/CD.
- Experience integrating external APIs or payment/communication services.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
