Qualification : Any degree
Experience : Minimum 1 or 2 Years in relevant field
Required Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of die-casting processes (HPDC / LPDC / GDC)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
- Familiarity with quality tools (7 QC tools, SPC basics)
- Attention to detail and strong inspection discipline
- Good communication and reporting skills
To ensure that die-cast components meet specified quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry norms by inspecting materials, processes, and finished products.
Incoming Material Inspection
- Verify raw materials (ingots, alloys) against specifications and certificates.
- Check chemical composition reports from suppliers.
- Ensure proper identification, storage, and traceability of materials.
In-Process Inspection
- Inspect parts during production to detect defects early.
- Monitor critical die-casting parameters such as:
- Metal temperature
- Die temperature
- Injection speed and pressure
- Verify machine settings as per control plans.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and work instructions.
Dimensional Inspection
- Measure components using tools such as:
- Vernier calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- CMM (if applicable)
- Verify dimensions against drawings and GD&T requirements.
- Maintain inspection records and reports.
Visual & Surface Inspection
- Identify surface defects including:
- Porosity
- Cold shuts
- Flash
- Cracks
- Shrinkage
- Blisters
- Ensure surface finish meets customer standards.
Mechanical & Functional Testing
- Assist in or perform tests such as:
- Hardness testing
- Leak / pressure testing
- Fitment or assembly checks
- Ensure test results meet acceptance criteria.
Final Inspection & Release
- Conduct final inspection before dispatch.
- Approve or reject parts based on quality standards.
- Ensure correct labeling, packaging, and documentation.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain quality records including:
- Inspection check sheets
- Non-conformance reports (NCR)
- First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
- Record rejection data and defect trends.
Non-Conformance Control
- Identify and segregate non-conforming products.
- Raise NCRs and support root cause analysis.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Continuous Improvement Support
- Provide feedback to production and engineering teams.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Support audits (internal, customer, ISO/IATF).
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with:
- ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements
- Customer-specific quality standards
- Follow safety procedures and promote safe work practices.
