Job Summary
The Cost & Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing product cost estimates, analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing quotations, monitoring cost variances, and supporting pricing decisions. The role works closely with Design, Production, Purchase, PPC, and Sales to ensure accurate product costing and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed product cost estimates based on drawings, BOM, routing, and manufacturing processes.
- Calculate material, fabrication, machining, painting, assembly, and logistics costs.
- Prepare and maintain standard costing for all products.
- Analyze actual production costs against estimated costs and identify variances.
- Coordinate with Design for new product costing and engineering changes.
- Work with the Purchase team to obtain the latest material and vendor rates.
- Support the Sales team by preparing commercial cost sheets and quotations.
- Develop cost-saving proposals through value engineering and process improvements.
- Maintain costing databases, BOMs, and pricing records.
- Monitor raw material price fluctuations and evaluate their impact on product costs.
- Prepare monthly cost analysis reports and management MIS.
- Support budgeting and annual cost planning activities.
- Ensure all costing documents are accurate and updated.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments for cost optimization initiatives.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering)
- Diploma with relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, heavy engineering, trailer, automotive, or engineering industries.
- Experience in product costing and estimation is mandatory.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
