CMM Programmer Job Description
Our company is growing rapidly and is looking for a CMM programmer. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all of the qualifications, but have sufficient experience and talent.
Responsibilities for CMM programmer
- Prepare CMM programs as required to CAD data and or prints for component parts and assemblies
- Performs first off, in-process & end-of-run report
- Performs ballooning of customer prints/drawings
- Performs layout inspection of checking fixtures
- Performs any other layout according to the layout request, issues reports
- Reviews layout with responsible product and quality engineer
- Prepares data for the PPAP submission as requested
- Performs gauge studies, GR & R’s (attribute and variables)
- Monitor gauge control software, ensure gauges are calibrated/verified as per schedule & gauge control procedures
- Participate and assist in problem solving & analysis
- Good knowledge of GD&T symbols. Able to operate VMM/OMM.
- CMM calibration to be done at daily use.
- Must ensure CMM cleanliness, part temperature & lab 5-S.
- Responsible to maintain Temperature & humidity as per metrology standard.
- Write programs based on the available software for the CMM
- Run existing programs as necessary
- Store programs according to applicable work instructions
- Schedule maintenance for CMMs as required.
- Make Work instructions for CMM operation.
- Use Data Page as a tool for gathering information
- Write CMM programs to support all inspection activities
- Develop improvements regarding quality processes and reducing inspection cycle time.
- Operate and troubleshoot all QC inspection equipment to produce high quality inspections reports using blueprints, CAD models, verbal instructions, and/or sketches
- Design and fabricate basic fixtures and tools necessary for the parts being measured
- Train and develop less experienced staff with the necessary programming and measurement skills to promote department growth
Qualifications for CMM programmer
- Actively participate in APQP Process especially in Gauge and Fixture design
- Able to work with minimum supervision, able to work flexible hours with occasional overtime
- Performs required incoming inspections based on the “Receiving incoming Inspection logs”
- Any other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
- Experience in the operation and programming of Coordinate Measuring Machines
- Minimum of five or more years of inspection experience
- Knowledge on Carl Zeiss / Calypso CMM is Preferred.

Pay: ₹475,003.95 - ₹547,727.44 per year
