Designation: Quality Inspector
Job Summary
Responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure that all parts meet approved engineering drawings, specifications, dimensional tolerances, and customer quality requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials, machined components, and finished products as per drawings and specifications.
- Perform incoming, in-process, first-piece, and final inspection.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Check critical dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Operate and use Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Dial Gauge, Thread Gauges, Plug Gauges, Ring Gauges, etc.
- Coordinate with the CMM Operator for detailed dimensional inspection when required.
- Verify surface finish, visual appearance, threads, holes, profiles, and other component characteristics.
- Identify and segregate rejected/non-conforming components.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records.
- Record inspection results accurately and ensure proper traceability.
- Communicate quality issues to Production and Quality Engineers.
- Support investigation of rejection, rework, and customer complaints
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection preferred.
- Experience in CNC/VMC/HMC machined components is an advantage.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may also be considered.
