Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support the daily operations of our hospital pharmacy. The candidate will assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, maintaining inventory, and ensuring excellent patient service while following hospital policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist in dispensing medicines as per prescriptions.
- Receive, store, and arrange medicines according to pharmacy standards.
- Verify prescriptions for completeness before processing.
- Label, pack, and prepare medications accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
- Monitor medicine stock levels and report low-stock items.
- Check expiry dates regularly and remove expired or damaged medicines.
- Assist in receiving and documenting medicine deliveries.
- Maintain inventory records and stock registers.
- Enter billing and patient information into the pharmacy software.
- Guide patients on medication schedules as instructed by the pharmacist.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Follow hospital infection control, safety, and pharmacy regulations.
- Assist in periodic stock audits and inventory reconciliation.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by the Pharmacist or Hospital Management.
Eligibility
- Diploma in Pharmacy Assistant / D.Pharm Assistant Course / Relevant Pharmacy Qualification.
- Freshers are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with hospital or retail pharmacy experience will be given preference.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of medicines and pharmaceutical products.
- Good communication skills in Tamil.
- Basic English reading and writing skills.
- Computer knowledge (MS Office/Hospital Billing Software).
- Good organizational and inventory management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work as part of a healthcare team.
- Professional attitude and willingness to learn.

Working Hours
- Full-time
- Rotational shifts as per hospital schedule.
- Sunday/holiday duty on rotation if required.
