Role Summary
The Mechanical & Plumbing Engineer shall be responsible for the planning, design review, technical evaluation, construction supervision, testing, commissioning, and maintenance support of all mechanical and public health engineering systems associated with the project. The role primarily focuses on water supply, plumbing, sanitation, drainage, sewage systems, rainwater harvesting, firefighting water infrastructure, pumping systems, and other mechanical utility services.
The engineer shall ensure that all works comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, statutory regulations, and Employer's requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Systems
- Review and monitor the design and installation of mechanical utility systems.
- Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical equipment.
- Review technical submissions, equipment data sheets, shop drawings, and material approvals.
- Coordinate with civil, architectural, electrical, and structural teams to ensure seamless integration of services.
- Identify engineering issues and recommend practical solutions during construction.
Plumbing & Public Health Engineering
- Review the design and execution of domestic water supply systems.
- Review non-potable water distribution systems.
- Supervise plumbing installations for buildings and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure proper implementation of sewage collection and disposal systems.
- Monitor storm water drainage and surface water management systems.
- Review rainwater harvesting systems.
- Review pumping stations, pressure boosting systems, and water storage facilities.
- Monitor installation of underground and overhead water tanks.
- Review wastewater collection and disposal infrastructure.
- Ensure proper implementation of sanitary fixtures and plumbing accessories.
- Verify compliance with applicable public health engineering standards.
Fire Water Infrastructure
- Review fire water storage tanks and associated piping networks.
- Coordinate with fire protection specialists regarding water supply requirements.
- Ensure mechanical interfaces with fire protection systems are properly executed.
Construction Supervision
- Monitor contractor activities related to mechanical and plumbing works.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks.
- Witness testing and commissioning activities.
- Verify measurement records and work progress.
- Review method statements and inspection test plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
Documentation
- Review design drawings and specifications.
- Review contractor submissions and technical documents.
- Prepare technical reports and inspection records.
- Maintain progress documentation.
- Support preparation of tender documents and technical specifications where required.
Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, utility agencies, and government authorities.
- Participate in design review meetings and progress meetings.
- Resolve site coordination issues related to mechanical and plumbing services.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
