How you might spend your days
As an Associate IT Support Engineer, you will be part of the DCS support team responsible for providing Level 2 (L2) support for ABB 800xA systems, primarily during project hypercare and stabilization phases. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer teams to troubleshoot technical issues, ensure system availability, and support smooth project execution. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting ABB 800xA system installation and deployment issues.
- Supporting system configuration and administration activities.
- Assisting in project creation, configuration, and environment setup.
- Investigating and resolving logic development and application issues.
- Supporting integration of ABB 800xA with third-party systems and interfaces.
- Troubleshooting access synchronization, user management, and security-related issues.
- Resolving issues related to adding and commissioning Soft Controllers and Physical Controllers.
- Monitoring incidents, analyzing root causes, and driving timely resolutions.
- Creating, maintaining, and improving Knowledge Base (KB) articles and support documentation.
- Supporting change management, issue tracking, and continuous improvement activities.
- Working closely with global stakeholders during hypercare periods to ensure stable operations

What you bring to the role
In all positions there are some things that are needed, and others a bonus. We believe these qualifications are needed for you to do well in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, or application support roles.
- Hands-on exposure to ABB 800xA Distributed Control System (DCS).
- Understanding of system installation, configuration, project setup, and controller engineering concepts.
- Experience with incident management processes and support operations.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting, issue analysis, and root cause identification.
- Knowledge of OPC DA and OPC HDA services and related connectivity issues.
- Familiarity with Batch Management Interface (BMI) concepts and troubleshooting activities.
- Exposure to ABB standard engineering, operation, and support documentation.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and Knowledge Base articles.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work extended hypercare support periods when required.
- You should be fluent in English.
