We're rebuilding our platform from the ground up and are looking for a Senior Python Engineer to help shape the next generation of culinary intelligence software. Description
As a Senior Python Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building the backend systems that power MenuWise's data platform. You'll develop scalable Django applications, build robust data pipelines, automate workflows, and create systems that acquire, validate, enrich, and process supplier, nutrition, and operational data.
This is a high-impact engineering role where you'll contribute to platform architecture, technical standards, and future AI capabilities while collaborating closely with Product, QA, Data, and Operations teams.
You'll work with modern technologies including Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Docker, ETL pipelines, web scraping frameworks, and AI-assisted development tools to build reliable, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python, Django, and Django Admin
- Develop robust REST APIs and backend services
- Build ETL and data processing pipelines for supplier, pricing, nutrition, and product data
- Develop workflow automation and internal operational tools
- Build and maintain web scraping solutions using Scrapy, Playwright, Requests, or similar frameworks
- Design reliable background jobs, scheduled tasks, and data validation workflows
- Optimize PostgreSQL databases and improve application performance
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Contribute to architecture decisions, coding standards, and platform scalability
- Explore AI/LLM integrations to improve data enrichment and automation
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional Python development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Django and Django Admin
- Experience building production-grade backend systems
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Experience developing ETL/Data Pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Scrapy, Playwright, Requests, or similar web scraping tools
- Experience with Docker, Git, and modern development practices
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and system design skills
Preferred Qualifications
- FastAPI
- Celery, Airflow, RabbitMQ
- LLM or AI integration experience
- Image processing or Computer Vision
- SaaS product experience
- Experience working with large datasets
- Knowledge of supplier, retail, hospitality, or foodservice domains

Pay: ₹2,500,000.00 - ₹4,000,000.00 per year
