1. Strategic Leadership: To Develop and implement crewing policies and procedures that align with the company’s business objectives. o Provide leadership to the crewing department, ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
2. Operational Oversight: To Ensure adequate and qualified staffing levels for all vessels, including new buildings in shipyards. o Oversee crew recruitment, payroll, certification, and other related processes to ensure timely and cost-effective operations.
3. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: To Represent the company on crewing matters, ensuring compliance with maritime laws, regulations, RPSL audits and MLC standards. o Oversee the verification and monitoring of crew certificates, particularly for DP vessels, ensuring they meet training requirements.
4. Crew Management: To Manage crew recruitment, including Articles of Agreement, wages, and allotments, ensuring accurate documentation. o Plan and oversee efficient rotation for sea staff to maintain operational continuity and excellence.
5. Team Leadership & Development: To Lead and mentor crewing managers and teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. o Collaborate with the Vessel Management Team on crew appraisals, promotions, and career development.
6. Stakeholder & Agency Management: To Liaise with manning agents, immigration authorities, and embassies to facilitate crew visa issuance and immigration clearance. o Maintain strong relationships with external partners, including manning agents, training institutions, and regulatory bodies.
7. Financial Management: To Assist in budgeting for the crewing department and monitor expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility. o Oversee the financial performance of the crewing operations. 8. Crisis & Incident Management: o Lead the response to crewing-related crises or incidents, ensuring effective and timely resolution to minimize operational impact.
