Position: Plant Utility Head

Job Summary:
The Plant Utility Head will be responsible for overall planning, operation, maintenance, and statutory compliance of all utility systems in the textile manufacturing plant. This includes Boilers, Thermopack (Thermic Fluid Heaters), Water Systems (Boring / Tube-well), Air, Power, and Energy Management. The role requires strong technical leadership, cost control, safety management, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Utility Operations & Management
Lead and control end-to-end utility operations across the plant
Ensure 24×7 uninterrupted supply of steam, thermic fluid, water, air, and power to production
Overall responsibility for Boilers, Thermopack, Boring / Water systems, pumps, compressors, and utility infrastructure
Optimize fuel consumption, energy efficiency, and utility costs
Maintenance & Reliability
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
Minimize breakdowns through root cause analysis and corrective actions
Plan shutdowns, annual maintenance, and critical overhauls
Ensure availability of spares and critical equipment
Statutory Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with Boiler Inspectorate, Factory Act, Pollution Control Board, and Safety Regulations
Maintain all statutory records, inspections, renewals, and certifications
Drive safety culture, audits, SOPs, and emergency preparedness
Ensure adherence to environmental norms related to emissions, water, and waste
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and manage utility engineers, supervisors, operators, and technicians
Plan manpower, shift management, and skill development
Set performance goals and conduct regular technical reviews
Planning, Budgeting & Reporting
Prepare and control utility budgets, CAPEX & OPEX
Analyze utility performance data and present MIS reports to management
Identify opportunities for energy conservation and process improvements
Support plant expansion, new projects, and capacity enhancement
Required Skills & Expertise:
In-depth expertise in industrial boilers, thermopack systems, and water utilities
Strong understanding of energy management, fuel optimization, and cost reduction
Sound knowledge of statutory compliance and regulatory requirements
Proven leadership and decision-making capabilities
Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills
Qualifications:
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory / preferred)
Boiler Operation Certificate (A/B Grade) – mandatory as per statutory norms
Energy Manager / Auditor certification – added advantage
Experience:
10+ years of experience in utility management
Minimum 5+ years in a leadership / head-level role
Textile industry experience preferred
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
