Job Description: PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Incharge

Role Objective
The PDI Incharge is responsible for the final quality control gate of the dealership. This role ensures that every vehicle delivered to a customer meets the manufacturer’s technical standards and the dealership’s aesthetic requirements. You will lead a team of PDI technicians to ensure zero-defect deliveries and high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance & Inspection
- Oversee the comprehensive Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process for all new vehicles arriving from the manufacturer.
- Conduct final random sampling checks to ensure technicians have followed the brand-specific PDI checklist (e.g., fluid levels, electrical systems, tire pressure, and battery health).
- Identify any transit damages or manufacturing defects and initiate warranty claims or repair orders immediately.
2. Team Management
- Supervise and schedule a team of PDI technicians and cleaning staff to meet daily delivery targets.
- Provide technical training and updates to the team regarding new models or updated inspection protocols.
- Ensure the team maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
3. Inventory & Logistics
- Coordinate with the Sales and Stockyard departments to prioritize vehicle preparation based on delivery schedules.
- Manage the movement of vehicles from the stockyard to the PDI bay and finally to the delivery area.
- Maintain an accurate log of all inspected vehicles, including chassis numbers and inspection dates.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all PDI certificates and manuals are properly signed off and placed in the vehicle.
- Maintain a database of common defects to provide feedback to the manufacturer’s service engineers.
- Manage inventory for PDI-related consumables (lubricants, cleaning agents, etc.).
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in automotive service or PDI, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of vehicle mechanics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
- License: Valid driving license for the relevant vehicle category (Two-wheeler/Four-wheeler).
- Attention to Detail: A "perfectionist" mindset regarding vehicle cleanliness and mechanical soundness.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
