Job Summary
Company is looking for a dynamic and technically skilled Maintenance / Project Engineer to oversee plant maintenance activities and execute engineering projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, planning preventive maintenance, managing installation and commissioning of new machinery, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant productivity and operational efficiency.
The candidate will be in charge of the Maintenance Department, under him will be the Maintenance Department Workers and Supervisors, who look at regular Maintenance and repairs of all machines including Induction Melting Furnace, Extrusion Press, Lathe Machines, Cutting Machines, Draw Benches, Swaging Machine, Bright Annealing Furnaces etc. The maintenance both ‘Preventive’ and ‘Predictive’ including removals, repairs and project maintenance take place at our factory on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:-
Maintenance;-Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of production machinery and utility equipment.
Ensure maximum machine availability by minimizing downtime through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption.
Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and service documentation.
Monitor the performance of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Ensure availability of critical spare parts and coordinate with the purchase and stores departments.
Implement preventive maintenance schedules and equipment improvement plans.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory maintenance requirements.
Projects:-
Plan, execute, and monitor plant expansion, machinery installation, relocation, and commissioning projects.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments for successful project execution.
Prepare project schedules, budgets, technical specifications, and progress reports.
Conduct site inspections and ensure projects are completed within timelines and budget.
Support automation, process improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.
Participate in layout modifications and utility planning for new equipment.
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
Diploma candidates with relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience
3–7 years of experience in maintenance and project engineering within metal manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing.
Experience in machinery installation, commissioning, and plant maintenance is preferred.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of utility equipment such as compressors, DG sets, pumps, cooling systems, and material handling equipment.
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Familiarity with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
Good knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel, and ERP/CMMS systems.
Strong troubleshooting, planning, and project management skills.
Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership abilities.

Proactive and result-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple maintenance and project activities simultaneously.
Strong vendor management and cross-functional coordination skills.
Willingness to work in a manufacturing plant environment.
Profile of a Candidate would be as follows - The minimum Diploma Engineer is required to understand and undertake the maintenance work(s), and project implementation. Hence, a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is better and more suitable. The candidate will be fully trained by our present Maintenance Head, who will still in work till his retirement for at least a year or so.
