Project Procurement Manager - Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh
Location: Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh
Position OverviewThe Project Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing all procurement activities for the data center project in Kurnool, ensuring timely sourcing, vendor management, cost optimization, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets
Create procurement schedules and milestones in coordination with project management teams
Conduct market research to identify qualified suppliers and optimal procurement channels
Prepare detailed procurement plans including material requirements, specifications, and delivery schedules
Vendor Management
Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors and suppliers through systematic qualification processes
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to achieve cost-effectiveness
Maintain strong vendor relationships and conduct regular performance evaluations
Manage vendor compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations
Purchase Order & Contract Management
Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with approved budgets
Review and negotiate supplier contracts, terms and conditions
Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery to project sites
Manage contract modifications, amendments, and change orders as required
Cost Management & Budget Control
Monitor procurement budgets and expenditures against approved project budgets
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering initiatives
Prepare cost analyses, variance reports, and budget forecasts
Ensure adherence to financial controls and approval processes
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all procured materials and services meet specified quality standards and technical requirements
Verify compliance with relevant regulations, client specifications, and industry standards
Coordinate with quality assurance teams for inspections and acceptance testing
Maintain comprehensive procurement documentation and audit trails
Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and technical teams to understand procurement needs
Coordinate with finance, legal, and contract administration teams
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement status
Risk Management
Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks including supply chain disruptions
Develop contingency plans for critical materials and services
Monitor market conditions and proactively address potential supply issues
Manage escalations and resolve procurement-related disputes
Required QualificationsEducation
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred
Experience
Minimum 5-8 years of procurement experience in infrastructure, construction, or real estate projects
Proven track record managing procurement for large-scale projects
Technical Skills
Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and contract administration
Understanding of construction materials, specifications, and industry standards
Advanced Microsoft Excel and procurement analytics capabilities
Core Competencies
Strong negotiation and commercial acumen
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Knowledge of relevant procurement regulations and compliance requirements
