About the Position
We are looking for a Junior AutoCAD / Civil 3D CAD Technician for a full-time work-from-home position.
You will receive GPS, survey, topographic and field data and convert it into accurate, organized and professional CAD drawings.
We are looking for someone with a good practical foundation in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. You do not need many years of experience. Fresh graduates with strong practical skills and candidates with approximately 1–2 years of experience are welcome to apply.
Training will be provided on our specific drawing standards, templates, layers, line codes, title blocks and workflow.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare AutoCAD and Civil 3D drawings from GPS and survey data
- Import and organize GPS/GNSS and survey points
- Work with coordinate and topographic data
- Create and manage Civil 3D Point Groups
- Create Civil 3D surfaces and contours
- Work with breaklines and surface boundaries
- Prepare topographic drawings
- Draft utility information from field data and markups
- Create and manage layers, line types, blocks and symbols
- Set up layouts, viewports and title blocks
- Add labels, dimensions and annotations
- Complete drawing revisions from markups
- Maintain clean and organized CAD files
- Check drawings for accuracy before submission
Survey Line Coding & Automated Drafting
Experience with survey line coding and automated Civil 3D linework is a strong advantage.
Knowledge of any of the following is preferred:
- Survey line codes / field codes
- Automated linework from coded GPS/survey points
- Civil 3D Description Keys
- Point Groups
- Point styles and label styles
- Survey Figures
- Figure Prefix Databases
- Feature Lines
- Breaklines
- Automated layer/style assignment
- Creating surfaces from survey points and breaklines
- Troubleshooting incorrect automated linework
Experience setting up a workflow from field data → Civil 3D → finished drawing is a strong advantage.
You do not need to know our specific coding system. Training will be provided on our standards, codes, layers and workflow.
Required Skills
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Basic to intermediate Civil 3D knowledge
- Understanding of layers, blocks, line types and properties
- Understanding of layouts, viewports and title blocks
- Basic knowledge of GPS/survey points and coordinates
- Basic knowledge of Civil 3D surfaces and contours
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and drawing standards
- Good written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently and learn new workflows
Preferred Background
Experience with land surveying, topographic surveys, civil drafting, utility drawings, GPS/GNSS data, Total Station data or Civil 3D survey work is preferred but not mandatory.
Work From Home Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Their own laptop or desktop capable of running AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Reliable high-speed internet
- A suitable work-from-home environment
- Ability to communicate with the team online
Required software access for company work can be provided/discussed.
Practical CAD Test
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a small practical Civil 3D test.
The test may include importing survey points, organizing point data, creating linework, working with layers, creating a basic surface/contours and preparing a clean drawing.
We are interested in practical ability and accuracy, not just certificates or years of experience.
