Role Summary
The PTW Welding Machine Operator is responsible for operating PTW (Portable / Pedestal Type Welding) machines to carry out high-quality welding of structural steel components as per approved drawings, welding procedures, and quality standards, ensuring strength, accuracy, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate PTW welding machines for structural fabrication and assembly works.
- Read and interpret welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
- Set correct welding parameters (current, voltage, polarity, electrode type) based on material and thickness.
- Perform tack welding, root pass, and full welds as per specifications.
- Ensure proper joint preparation, fit-up, and alignment before welding.
- Inspect welds visually for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, and lack of fusion.
- Carry out minor rectifications and grinding after welding as required.
- Maintain welding machines, cables, holders, and accessories in good condition.
- Coordinate with fitters, supervisors, and QC for inspection and approvals.
- Follow safety procedures, wear PPE, and maintain a clean work area.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
