About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Head of Equity Research to lead our research function, drive investment strategies, and deliver high-quality insights across sectors.
This is a leadership role requiring strong experience in institutional research, team management, and client engagement, along with a proven track record of generating actionable investment ideas.
Key Responsibilities1. Investment Strategy & Recommendations
- Generate high-quality stock, sector, and thematic investment ideas
- Deliver actionable recommendations across investor segments
- Contribute to overall equity strategy, business planning, and growth initiatives
2. Client Engagement
- Work closely with Institutional Clients, HNI, PCG, and retail clients
- Address client queries and provide strategic investment guidance
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
3. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of equity research analysts
- Guide research methodology, valuation approaches, and output quality
- Encourage idea generation and continuous learning within the team
4. Research & Product Development
- Develop and enhance research products tailored to different client segments
- Publish high-quality equity research reports across sectors and market caps
- Drive innovation in research delivery and content
5. Financial Modeling & Portfolio Monitoring
- Oversee development of financial models and valuation frameworks
- Monitor portfolio companies and recommend timely changes
- Ensure accuracy and depth in analysis
6. Market & Sector Analysis
- Track industry trends, macro developments, and regulatory changes
- Identify sectoral opportunities and risks
- Develop theme-based investment ideas and strategies
7. Strategic Planning
- Align research output with overall business objectives
- Contribute to short-term and long-term business strategy
- Identify opportunities to improve research effectiveness and reach
8. Industry Representation & Networking
- Represent the firm in investor meetings, conference calls, roadshows, and industry events
- Build strong relationships with company managements and market participants
Who We’re Looking For
- 12+ years of experience in Equity Research / Institutional Research / Mutual Funds
- Minimum 5+ years in a leadership role managing research teams
- Strong experience in servicing Institutional Clients
- Coverage experience across 100+ companies
- Deep understanding of equity markets, trading strategies, and financial analysis
- Knowledge of Algo trading is an added advantage
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Education (Mandatory)
- MBA (Finance) from a reputed institute / CA / CFA
