They bridge engineering with biology, ensuring equipment safety, conducting clinical trials, and training staff. Key duties include testing, troubleshooting, and documenting, often working in hospitals or manufacturing.
Core Responsibilities Design & Development: Create, test, and implement new biomedical equipment, devices, and software. Maintenance & Support: Install, calibrate, and repair clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic equipment. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all devices meet regulatory standards and safety protocols. Training & Collaboration: Instruct clinical staff on equipment usage and collaborate with physicians on new, improved, or customized devices. Research & Reporting: Analyze data to prepare technical reports, documentation, and research papers.
