Role Summary
Position overview
The Assistant Professor will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering, contribute to curriculum development, supervise student projects, engage in scholarly research, and participate in departmental and institutional service. The role requires a minimum qualification of a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching: Deliver lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions for core and elective Mechanical Engineering courses; prepare lesson plans and assessment materials.
- Student Supervision: Guide undergraduate and postgraduate projects, internships, and dissertations; mentor students on academic and career development.
- Research: Develop and pursue a research agenda; publish in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences; seek research funding and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects.
- Laboratory Management: Maintain and upgrade departmental labs and equipment; ensure safety protocols and hands‑on learning opportunities.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to course design, syllabus updates, and the introduction of industry‑relevant modules.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Design and grade examinations, assignments, and practical assessments; maintain accurate academic records.
- Departmental Service: Participate in faculty meetings, committees, accreditation activities (NBA/NAAC), student recruitment, and outreach programs.
- Industry Engagement: Build links with industry for guest lectures, internships, consultancy, and placement support.
- Continuous Professional Development: Attend workshops, training, and refresher courses to stay current with pedagogy and technology.
Minimum Qualifications
- Academic: Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- Eligibility: Meet any statutory/regulatory eligibility criteria required by the affiliating university and regulatory bodies for appointment to the post.
- Experience: Teaching or industry experience is desirable but not mandatory for fresh postgraduates; preference may be given to candidates with prior teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience.
- Skills: Good communication skills in English; basic competency with teaching technologies and learning management systems.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
