ABOUT M5WEALTH
M5Wealth is a cross-border wealth management infrastructure platform headquartered in London.
We work with private banks, wealth managers and family offices across major wealth centres in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
We operate in a particularly interesting product environment. Our clients manage sophisticated businesses involving multiple asset classes, entities, custodians, partners, systems, users, regulations and geographies and the problems we encounter are rarely textbook Product Management problems. They are real business problems.
ROLE OVERVIEW
If you’re someone who wants to understand how businesses really work, and then use technology to make them work better, this role could be for you.
You may already be a Product Manager or perhaps you are a Business Analyst, Implementation Consultant, Solution Consultant or enterprise technology professional who increasingly finds yourself asking questions beyond your current role, like “Am I truly driving meaningful impact for the businesses I serve or I am just checking the boxes?’ – if so, this position is built for you.
And as M5Wealth grows internationally, you will have the opportunity to work increasingly close to global clients, Product and Technology teams, with the potential to take on larger products, client segments and markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· As a Product Manager – Client Business Growth, you will work on critical problems across the client journey:
Onboarding → Activation → Adoption → Usage → Value → Growth
· You will not necessarily own all of them at once. At different stages, you may be asked to go extremely deep into one part of the journey and make it significantly better.
“Onboarding” here doesn't mean maintaining trackers and following up on implementation tasks. It starts much earlier.
· You are not documenting a process for the sake of documentation. You are building a mental model of the client's business. Don't assume the existing process is the correct process. Challenge it.
· You will work with the client and internal teams to move from how it works today to how it should work tomorrow.
Understand → Map → Question → Simplify → Redesign → Enable
· Once you understand the better process, you need to translate it into product.
Business Objective → User Journey → Business Process → Workflow → Data & Business Rules → Product Capability → Technology → Business Outcome.
· Sometimes the answer already exists in the product. Sometimes it requires configuration. Sometimes an integration. Sometimes the client should change the process. And sometimes you will uncover a genuine product opportunity. Knowing the difference is part of your job.
· Don’t . You need to understand the problem beneath the request. Because if one client asks for something, it may be a client requirement. But if five clients encounter versions of the same problem, there may be a product opportunity. You will be expected to recognize those patterns.
· Every problem solved should leave the product better than you found it. The ambition is simple: The 20th client should be easier to onboard than the 10th. Once onboarding becomes better, your next challenge could be Activation, Adoption, Usage, Value, Growth. Different problem. Same approach: Understand → Question → Simplify → Design → Build → Measure → Improve.
