Quality Control (QC) Executive / Inspector Job Description
Industry: Plastic Parts Manufacturing – Injection Molding Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Executive / QC Inspector Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control Location: Chhatral Reporting To: Quality Manager / Production Head
Key Responsibilities
1. Incoming Material Inspection Check and inspect incoming raw materials, master batches, inserts, and packing materials. Verify material quality as per approved standards and specifications. Maintain proper inspection records and reports.
2. In-Process Quality Inspection Conduct regular inspection during production on Injection Molding Machines. Ensure products are manufactured according to approved drawings, samples, and customer requirements. Monitor dimensions, appearance, weight, color, finish, and fitting of plastic parts. Identify production defects such as: o Short molding o Flash o Black spots o Sink marks o Flow marks o Color variation o Burr o Crack o Warpage o Burn marks o Silver marks Take immediate corrective action with production team when defects are found.
3. Final Inspection & Dispatch Clearance Perform final inspection of finished goods before dispatch. Approve only quality-approved material for packing and dispatch. Ensure proper labeling and packing standards are followed. Prepare final inspection reports and maintain dispatch quality records.
4. Measurement & Testing Use measuring instruments such as: o Vernier Caliper o Micrometer o Height Gauge o Weighing Scale o Plug Gauge / Go-No-Go Gauge Maintain calibration status of measuring instruments. Record measurement results accurately.
5. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily quality inspection reports. Prepare rejection and rework reports. Maintain quality check sheets and production quality records. Update management regarding quality issues and rejection percentages. Support ISO and customer audit documentation.
6. Problem Solving & Improvement Analyze root causes of defects and quality issues. Coordinate with Production, Tool Room, and Maintenance departments for corrective actions. Suggest improvements for reducing rejection and improving product quality. Participate in continuous improvement activities.
7. Customer Quality Compliance Ensure products meet customer quality standards and specifications. Handle customer complaints related to product quality. Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
Required Skills Good knowledge of Injection Molding process. Knowledge of plastic part defects and quality standards. Ability to read drawings and inspection parameters. Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Word). Good observation and reporting skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Ability to work in shifts if required.
Qualification Diploma / ITI / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Plastic Engineering, or relevant field. Experience in Plastic Injection Molding Quality preferred. Experience Fresher or Experienced candidates can apply.2-3 years Minimum ______ years of experience preferred in plastic manufacturing quality inspection.
Working Conditions Factory manufacturing environment. Standing and inspection work during production shifts. Rotational shifts may be applicable.
