JOB DESCRIPTION - Why this Job is Amazing:
As the Zonal Head for the Agency Channel, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and driving the insurance business within the assigned zone through the agency distribution model. This role involves developing a high-performing team, expanding the agency network, ensuring strong partner engagement, and delivering consistent business growth.
The Zonal Head will provide strategic leadership to Regional Managers, Cluster Managers, Area Managers, and Sales Managers, guiding them to achieve targets, ensure compliance, and uphold organizational values.
Role and Responsibilities:
Zone-Level Business Strategy & Execution:

Develop and execute comprehensive business strategies for agency development in the zone.

Drive growth through structured planning, data analysis, and target setting across regional teams.

Identify market opportunities and align initiatives to meet zonal revenue and productivity targets.
Agency Network Expansion:

Lead recruitment drives and expansion initiatives for the agency network.

Support Regional and Cluster Managers in sourcing high-quality POS/agents.

Ensure quality onboarding, licensing, and engagement of new agents.
Sales Leadership & Performance Management:

Lead and mentor Regional Managers, Cluster Managers, Area/Territory Managers.

Monitor daily performance metrics and drive productivity at all levels.

Maintain a healthy mix of new and existing agent activity across the zone.
Operational Excellence:

Ensure smooth coordination with operations teams for pre-licensing, training, and certification processes.

Drive adherence to process hygiene, compliance norms, and regulatory standards.

Regularly review and improve zonal sales processes to enhance efficiency and agent experience.
Profitability & Market Growth:

Monitor profitability indicators including loss ratios, persistency, and channel efficiency.

Stay updated with market trends and feedback to enhance competitive positioning.

Collaborate with product and marketing teams to support zonal sales efforts.
People Development:

Recruit, train, and retain high-performing sales leaders within the zone.

Conduct regular performance appraisals and growth planning for direct reports.

Drive a culture of collaboration, performance, and employee engagement.
Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure adherence to internal and external compliance requirements.

Manage pendency resolution, business quality, and cheque bounce recoveries.
Qualifications & Experience:

Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline (MBA preferred).

10–15 years of relevant experience in the Insurance industry, preferably in the Agency Channel.

Proven track record of leading large teams across regions.

Strong strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
