AstroIndia is a growing digital brand creating engaging, informative, and entertaining content around astrology, spirituality, relationships, self-discovery, and related topics. We are looking for a creative and dependable Video Editor who understands short-form content and can turn raw footage into compelling YouTube Shorts that capture attention and encourage viewers to keep watching.
Role Overview
As our Video Editor, you will work from our office Monday through Saturday and edit short-form videos for AstroIndia’s YouTube channel and other social media platforms. You will be responsible for the complete editing process—from organizing raw footage and identifying the strongest moments to adding captions, graphics, music, sound effects, and finishing touches.
This is a fast-paced role for someone who enjoys creating content every day, understands social media trends, and can consistently deliver polished videos on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and deliver engaging YouTube Shorts and other short-form videos on a daily basis.
- Convert raw footage, talking-head videos, podcasts, and longer recordings into concise, high-retention content.
- Add accurate subtitles, hooks, transitions, graphics, emojis, sound effects, background music, and other visual elements where appropriate.
- Create strong openings that capture the viewer’s attention within the first few seconds.
- Maintain AstroIndia’s visual identity, tone, and editing style across all content.
- Repurpose videos for Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and other social platforms when required.
- Follow content briefs and coordinate with presenters, writers, and the social media team.
- Organize project files, raw footage, audio, templates, and completed exports properly.
- Review videos carefully for spelling, audio quality, timing, aspect ratio, and overall presentation before delivery.
- Make revisions promptly based on feedback.
- Stay updated on editing styles, viral formats, platform trends, and new creative ideas.
- Help improve watch time, audience retention, and engagement through thoughtful editing.
Required Skills
- Good command of Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar video-editing software.
- Strong understanding of YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and vertical 9:16 video formats.
- Ability to create clean, accurate, and visually appealing subtitles.
- Good sense of pacing, storytelling, music, sound design, and visual hierarchy.
- Basic knowledge of colour correction and audio enhancement.
- Ability to understand Hindi and English content. Strong Hindi comprehension is important.
- Ability to meet daily deadlines without compromising quality.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward feedback.
- Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and reliability.
Knowledge of After Effects, motion graphics, Photoshop, thumbnail design, or AI-assisted editing tools will be an added advantage.
Working Schedule
- This is a full-time, in-office position from Monday to Saturday.
- The selected candidate will also be required to work from home for a few hours on Sundays to handle time-sensitive edits, scheduled uploads, or urgent content requirements.
- Candidates should apply only if they are comfortable with this schedule.
- Sunday responsibilities and working arrangements will be managed in accordance with the company’s leave, compensatory-time, and applicable employment policies.
