Assistant Manager - Legal & Compliance

Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager - Legal & Compliance will be responsible for managing legal and compliance matters of the organization, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, mitigating legal risks, supporting business operations through contractual governance, and maintaining compliance across manufacturing and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts, vendor agreements, purchase contracts, service agreements, NDAs, lease agreements, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal advice to management and business teams on commercial, operational, employment, and regulatory matters.
- Handle legal notices, disputes, litigation, arbitration, and recovery matters in coordination with external counsels.
- Maintain legal documentation, contract database, and case management records.
- Support land, property, and infrastructure-related legal matters when required.
Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws including Companies Act, Factory Act, Labour Laws, Environmental Regulations, Industrial Safety Regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Monitor regulatory updates and assess their impact on the business.
- Conduct compliance audits and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with government authorities, regulators, and consultants for licenses, approvals, and statutory compliance.
Corporate Governance & Risk Management
- Support preparation and maintenance of legal and compliance records.
- Identify legal and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement compliance policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
- Assist in creating a culture of compliance through awareness programs and employee training.
Qualifications
- LL.B. (Mandatory)
- Additional qualification in Corporate Law, Compliance, or Company Secretarial practices will be preferred.
Experience
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in Legal & Compliance.
- Experience in Manufacturing, Solar, Renewable Energy, Engineering, Industrial, or EPC sectors will be preferred.
- Exposure to factory compliance and industrial regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of Contract Law, Labour Laws, Corporate Laws, and Industrial Regulations.
- Expertise in contract drafting, vetting, and negotiation.
- Strong understanding of legal risk management and statutory compliance.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
