Job Summary
The Construction Timekeeper is responsible for accurately tracking, recording, and verifying the daily attendance and working hours of all site personnel—including direct laborers, skilled trades, and subcontractors. This role ensures that payroll processing is accurate, labor laws are strictly followed, and project labor costs are correctly allocated.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Attendance Tracking: Monitor and record the daily clock-in/clock-out times of all site workers using digital systems (biometric, RFID, or mobile apps) or manual muster sheets.
- Data Verification: Cross-check hours worked against site supervisor logs, progress reports, and subcontractor sign-in sheets to resolve any discrepancies.
- Labor Allocation: Code and allocate labor hours to specific project tasks or cost codes to help management track accurate project budgeting.
- Overtime & Shift Management: Track and verify overtime hours, night shifts, and holiday pay eligibility according to company policy and local labor laws.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly manpower and hours-worked reports to the Project Manager and Head Office Payroll department.
- Compliance: Ensure all newly deployed workers have completed mandatory site safety inductions before recording their time.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience as a timekeeper or administrative assistant, ideally on a construction site or in a heavy industrial setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Excel and familiarity with construction time-tracking/HRIS software (e.g., ClockShark, Procore, QuickBooks Time).
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong ethical standards (to prevent "buddy punching" or time fraud), and the ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes dusty site environment.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
