Job Title: VTL Operator / CNC VTL Machine Operator

Job Summary
The Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining VTL machines (conventional or CNC) to fabricate large, heavy, and high-precision components according to engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Machine Setup & Operation:
- Set up, configure, and operate Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) machines to carry out turning, facing, boring, grooving, and threading operations.
- Load and unload heavy castings, forgings, or raw materials safely using overhead cranes or hoists.
- Align workpieces, install fixtures/chucks, and secure holding parameters.
- Programming & Controls (For CNC VTL):
- Read, load, and verify CNC G-code and M-code programs (Fanuc, Siemens, or similar control systems).
- Set tool offsets, work offsets, and adjust cutting feeds and speeds based on material type (Cast Iron, Stainless Steel, Alloys).
Key Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in operating conventional or CNC Vertical Turning Lathes.
- Proficiency in reading complex engineering component drawings.
- Competency with Fanuc / Siemens controllers (for CNC operators).
- Expertise in precision measurement instruments and GD&T.
- Safe handling of overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and heavy components.
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
- Education: ITI (Turner / Machinist / Fitter) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience on VTL machines in heavy manufacturing, pump/valve manufacturing, or precision component industries.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹48,000.00 per month
