Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an HCM Analyst to join our Ashland Inc business. This is a highly visible and impactful role within the Company and the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) function. This position will report to the HRIS Manager .
- Serve as a functional analyst and subject matter expert for Workday and other HR technology platforms.
- Configure, test, troubleshoot, and support business processes, reports, security, and system enhancements across the HCM ecosystem.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and analytics that support business decision-making.
- Support Workday releases, system updates, and enhancement projects, including testing and validation activities.
- Investigate and resolve system issues while maintaining data integrity and compliance with internal controls.
- Assist with HR system integrations and coordinate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors.
- Document business processes, system configurations, testing results, and support procedures.
- Work alongside a team of HR technology professionals focused on innovation, process improvement, and delivering a world-class employee experience.
- Bring forward new ideas, automation opportunities, and creative solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety.
- Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others.
- Not a management position – this is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
- Not a help desk role – while support activities are involved, a significant portion of the role focuses on analysis, configuration, projects, and continuous improvement.
- Not a purely technical developer position – success requires balancing technical system knowledge with business process understanding.
- Not an entry-level position – candidates should be able to quickly contribute to projects, enhancements, and system support activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting Workday, HRIS, HCM, or related enterprise systems.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into system solutions.
- Experience creating reports, dashboards, and data analysis using HR systems.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and coordinating resolution activities.
- Experience testing system enhancements, upgrades, and new functionality.
- Strong knowledge of HR business processes and employee lifecycle transactions.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times.
- The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different.
- Workday certification or advanced Workday experience.
- Experience with Workday business processes, reporting, security, or integrations.
- Experience supporting Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Talent Management, or Recruiting modules.
- Experience with EIBs
- Knowledge of SOX controls, audit requirements, or HR data governance.
- Experience supporting a global workforce and HR organization.
