The Purchase Manager will lead procurement operations for LT/HT electrical panel manufacturing, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, strong vendor partnerships, and uninterrupted material availability aligned with project timelines and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complete procurement strategy for electrical panel components and systems
- Manage sourcing of key items such as ACB, MCCB, MCB, VFDs, PLCs, protection relays, CTs, busbars, etc.
- Develop and maintain a strong vendor base (OEMs, distributors, fabricators)
- Conduct techno-commercial evaluations and finalize high-value purchase orders
- Drive price negotiations and long-term rate contracts with key suppliers
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, BOQs, and project requirements
- Monitor procurement planning in line with production schedules
- Optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs
- Identify alternate vendors and cost-saving opportunities
- Manage import procurement and logistics (if applicable)
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, company policies, and statutory requirements
- Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team
Required Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of LT/HT electrical panels and components
- Expertise in vendor negotiation and strategic sourcing
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (SLD, GA)
- Strong commercial acumen and cost analysis capability
- Experience with ERP/SAP systems
- Leadership and team management skills
- Strong network with electrical OEMs and suppliers
Qualifications
- B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering (MBA in Supply Chain preferred)
- 4-6 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role
Preferred Industry Experience
- Electrical panel manufacturing companies
- EPC / Industrial electrical projects
- Experience with PCC, MCC, APFC, VFD, and automation panels
