Jewellery Cashier
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, customer-focused, and dependable Jewellery Cashier to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing billing operations, processing customer payments accurately, maintaining cash and transaction records, and delivering an exceptional checkout experience while ensuring compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Generate invoices, receipts, and tax-compliant bills in accordance with company policies.
- Accept and process payments through cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, bank transfers, and other approved payment methods.
- Verify product details, pricing, discounts, and promotional offers before completing transactions.
- Reconcile cash drawers and payment records at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Maintain accurate records of daily sales, refunds, exchanges, and customer payments.
- Coordinate with the sales team, inventory team, and management to ensure seamless transaction processing.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding billing, payments, and invoices in a professional manner.
- Ensure strict adherence to cash-handling procedures, internal controls, and security protocols.
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and financial information.
- Support store operations and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a cashier in retail; experience in the jewellery industry will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in POS systems, billing software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong numerical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
