Design and develop portal components including themes, portlets, hooks, EXT plugins, and service builder modules. Utilize out-of-the-box capabilities of Liferay to minimize customizations and ensure maintainability. Perform system integration with external systems via REST, SOAP, and other interfaces. Work with Liferay-specific concepts like Organizations, Roles, Permissions, Workflow, User Management, and Site Administration. Customize the UI/UX using Liferay's frontend frameworks, templates, and theme development (Freemarker, React, JSP, AlloyUI, etc.). Optimize performance and scalability of Liferay implementations. Lead and mentor junior developers, participate in code reviews, and enforce coding standards and practices. Stay updated with the latest Liferay versions, patches, and security advisories. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across dev/test/prod environments. Ensure secure, accessible, and high-performing portal applications. Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of experience in web development with 3+ years specifically in Liferay (DXP/CE). Deep understanding of Liferay platform capabilities, including Site and Page Management, Assets, Workflows, and Staging. Experience in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and Web Services (REST/SOAP). Proficiency with Liferay frameworks: Service Builder, Portlet APIs, and Liferay-specific tag libraries. Frontend development skills with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, React (optional), Freemarker, and JSP. Strong understanding of Liferay Permissions, Roles, and User Management. Experience in deploying and managing Liferay instances (Tomcat, Apache, or other containers). Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git. Knowledge of databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and Liferay's database schema. Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
