Position Title: Lecturer – Applied Science (Physics & Mathematics)

Job Purpose
To impart quality education in Physics and Mathematics to diploma students, promote academic excellence, and contribute to the overall development of the institution through teaching, mentoring, research, and administrative responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Teach Physics and Mathematics subjects as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, question banks, and laboratory manuals.
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and remedial classes.
- Conduct internal assessments, assignments, quizzes, and examinations.
- Evaluate answer scripts and maintain academic records.
- Ensure completion of syllabus within the stipulated time.
Student Development
- Mentor and guide students regarding academics and career development.
- Monitor student attendance, performance, and discipline.
- Provide academic counseling and support to weak students.
- Encourage participation in technical events, seminars, and competitions.
Laboratory & Practical Management
- Assist in the maintenance and development of Physics laboratories.
- Ensure proper utilization and upkeep of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Maintain laboratory records, stock registers, and safety procedures.
Institutional Responsibilities
- Participate in admission, examination, placement, accreditation, and other institutional activities.
- Attend departmental meetings, workshops, seminars, and faculty development programs.
- Assist in organizing academic and co-curricular activities.
- Support implementation of policies and quality assurance initiatives.
Research & Development
- Keep updated with advancements in Physics, Mathematics, and teaching methodologies.
- Participate in research, publications, and consultancy activities.
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic innovation.
Qualification & Eligibility Essential Qualification
- M.Sc. in Physics / Mathematics with First Class.
- Qualifications as per AICTE/State Government norms.
Experience:-
- Teaching experience in Polytechnic/Engineering Institutions preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong subject knowledge in Physics and Mathematics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital teaching tools.
- Ability to manage classrooms effectively.
- Good interpersonal and mentoring skills.
- Teamwork and administrative capabilities.
