1. Diagnostic Testing & Analysis
- Sample Processing: Receive, accession, and process clinical specimens (e.g., blood, tissue, swabs) for DNA/RNA extraction.
- Advanced Techniques: Perform molecular assays including Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR), Sanger sequencing, and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
- Result Validation: Analyze and interpret genetic/molecular data, ensuring accuracy before signing off on patient reports.
2. Quality Control & Compliance
- Strict Quality Assurance (QA): Maintain and document Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Assurance (EQA) programs.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure the laboratory adheres to international and national accreditations (e.g., NABL guidelines or CAP standards).
- Bio-safety: Enforce rigorous contamination control and Biosafety Level (BSL) protocols.
3. Inventory Management
- Inventory Control: Monitor reagent and consumable stock levels, ensuring proper storage and handling according to manufacturer specifications.
4. Documentation & Assay Development
- SOP Development: Write, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new and existing molecular assays.
- Research & Development: Assist senior scientists in optimizing, validating, and troubleshooting new in-house molecular assays
