A Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) by providing direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, and supporting life-saving procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, oxygen saturation, ECG)
- Assist in emergency procedures (CPR, intubation support)
- Operate and maintain ICU equipment (ventilators, monitors, defibrillators)
- Provide basic patient care (bathing, feeding, positioning)
- Collect samples (blood, urine) for laboratory testing
- Maintain infection control and hygiene standards
- Assist nurses and doctors during critical interventions
- Ensure proper documentation of patient records
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Certificate in Critical Care Technology / ICU Technician
- BSc in allied health sciences (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (added advantage)
