Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing software on systems, following user manuals and troubleshooting documents to resolve client issues, conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for softwares, and visiting client sites to provide hands-on technical support. You will work closely with clients to ensure their systems run smoothly and efficiently, delivering excellent customer service while addressing technical challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Software Installation: Install and configure software on Windows operating systems for client environments.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve client issues by following troubleshooting documents and using remote desktop tools or on-site visits.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Coordinate and participate in UAT with clients to ensure that installed software meets their business requirements and operates correctly in the client's environment.
- Client Support: Provide timely and professional support to clients via phone, email, or in person.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- On-site Support: Visit client sites as needed to troubleshoot, repair, or upgrade systems and ensure proper functioning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other technical teams to escalate and resolve complex issues when necessary.
- Training: Assist clients in understanding how to use the software and provide training as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- Proven experience of atleast 2 years as a Support Engineer, Technical Support, or related role.
- Familiarity with installing software on any operating system.
- Experience using troubleshooting documents or user manuals to solve issues.
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including working directly with end-users to validate software installations.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think logically and work independently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to travel to client sites when necessary.
