Position: Site Electrical Engineer

Job Summary
The Site Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing all electrical works for building construction projects. The role ensures that electrical installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, applicable codes, quality standards, and project schedules while coordinating effectively with civil, MEP, HVAC, plumbing, and finishing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all electrical installation works for residential, commercial, institutional, or industrial building projects.
- Review approved electrical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and shop drawings before execution.
- Coordinate with civil, architectural, plumbing, HVAC, fire fighting, and interior teams to ensure smooth execution of MEP works.
- Supervise installation of conduits, cable trays, wiring, switchboards, lighting systems, power outlets, earthing, lightning protection, and electrical panels.
- Monitor installation of HT/LT systems, transformers, DG sets, UPS, and power distribution systems where applicable.
- Ensure all electrical works comply with IS standards, National Building Code (NBC), local electrical regulations, and client specifications.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems before handover.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and maintain site documentation.
- Verify quantities executed and assist in preparation of client and subcontractor bills.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, vendors, and subcontractors for inspections and approvals.
- Ensure timely procurement and proper utilization of electrical materials.
- Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure corrective actions for any non-conformance.
- Enforce electrical safety practices and ensure all personnel use appropriate PPE.
- Attend site meetings and provide technical support for resolving site issues.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved within the approved timeline and budget.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in electrical execution for residential, commercial, hospital, hotel, educational, or high-rise building projects.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of building electrical systems and MEP coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of HT/LT systems, lighting, power distribution, earthing, DG sets, UPS, and fire alarm systems.
- Familiarity with electrical testing and commissioning procedures.
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity estimation, and billing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Office.
- Good communication, coordination, and team management skills.
