Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Production Planning Engineer to manage and optimize production planning, scheduling, and coordination activities. The role requires strong expertise in SAP/ERP systems, ensuring accurate planning, efficient resource utilization, and timely delivery in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans
- Monitor plan vs. actual performance and take corrective actions
- Prepare detailed production schedules based on Sales Orders and priorities
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials
System Management (SAP/ERP)
- Create, update, and release production plans in SAP/ERP systems
- Maintain accurate data for Job Assignments, inventory, and production status
- Ensure system accuracy and real-time updates for planning activities
Monitoring & Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality, and Dispatch teams
- Ensure timely material availability and highlight shortages proactively
- Track inward, WIP, and finished goods status for smooth operations
- Ensure timely readiness of finished goods for dispatch
Analysis & Process Improvement
- Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks and improve efficiency
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce delays
- Drive adherence to production timelines and delivery commitments
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain planning dashboards, MIS reports, and daily updates
- Ensure accurate documentation of planning activities and reports
- Provide regular updates to management on production status and risks
Key Requirements
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 4–8 years of experience in Production Planning & Control
- Mandatory hands-on experience in SAP / ERP systems
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis
- Ability to manage plan vs. actual tracking and scheduling
