Job Description: Project Supervisor (OFC Maintenance)
Location: Prayagraj (PRYJ Division Headquarters)
Objective: To oversee the comprehensive maintenance of the OFC network, manage multiple field teams, and act as the primary liaison between the company and the Prayagraj Railway Division authorities.
1. Team Management & Supervision
- Team Coordination: Manage and monitor at least four dedicated maintenance teams stationed at designated headquarters.
- Deployment & Attendance: Ensure all team members, including splicers and patrolmen, are present at the office of the SSE Tele Incharge during office hours unless assigned to field work.
- Patrolling Oversight: Verify that the entire section is covered by foot or bicycle patrolling at least twice a month, ensuring every patrolman visits their assigned route once every 15 days.
- Emergency Response: Direct teams to move immediately upon fault notification, maintaining a 15-minute response time and ensuring end-to-end restoration within 4 hours.
2. Liaison & Communication Management
- Railway Division Liaison: Serve as the authorized representative for communication with the Sr. DSTE/Co./PRYJ, Railway NMS, and Site-Engineers.
- Inter-Departmental Coordination: Maintain regular contact with Railway departments (Engineering, TRD, RailTel) and other agencies to safeguard the OFC route during their construction activities.
- Statutory Approvals: Obtain necessary work permissions at your own cost from authorities such as Municipal Corporations, PWD, NHAI, and Electricity Departments for repairs in access networks or last-mile connectivity.
3. Technical Oversight & Record Keeping
- Work Documentation: Maintain accurate logbooks of all work performed by teams and ensure they are duly verified by the Railway Engineer.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit hard and soft copies of:
- Monthly & Emergency Reports as prescribed by the Railway.
- Fiber Testing Reports every 3 months for all block sections.
- OTDR Testing Reports within 10 days of measurement.
- Fault-Rectification Reports, jointly signed for every complaint closure.
- As-Built Drawings (ABD): Ensure ABD and cable route plans are updated with every instance of a cable cut or diversion and submitted with bills or every 6 months.
4. Resource & Compliance Management
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all teams are equipped with calibrated tools (OTDRs, splicing machines, power meters) and that instruments are jointly tested and signed for monthly.
- Material Control: Manage the supply of contractor-provided materials (joint enclosures, RCC/FRP markers) and ensure any unutilized Railway-issued material is returned to stores.
- Safety & Standards: Enforce the use of safety appliances (helmets, gloves, high-visibility gear) and ensure all work (such as 1-meter burial depth for joints and road crossings) meets Railway engineering practices.
5. Accountability
- Penalty Mitigation: Actively manage operations to avoid penalties related to non-submission of reports, delayed restoration, or failure to perform bi-monthly patrolling.
- Site Supervision: Remain available at all times during the performance of work as the competent supervisor on-site; instructions given to you by the Railway are considered as given to the contractor.
Pay: ₹24,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
Application Question(s):

- Preferred Candidate
Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related discipline.
Strong leadership skills.
Experience managing multiple OFC maintenance teams.
Ability to coordinate with Railway officials.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Able to work under emergency conditions.
Experience working on Railway, RailTel, BSNL, Power Grid, or similar government telecom infrastructure projects will be preferred.
