Requirements:
- 5+ years of database administration, with at least 3–4+ years focused heavily on MongoDB in large-scale production environments
- Deep knowledge of MongoDB architecture, including replica sets, sharded clusters, and the WiredTiger storage engine
- Proficiency in scripting languages, primarily Python and Shell scripting (Bash), for automating routine tasks
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix operating systems, which serve as the foundation for most MongoDB deployments
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas or managed services in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or MongoDB Ops Manager
Responsibility:
- Administer and maintain MongoDB clusters, performing installations, upgrades, and patches (e.g., patching from 6.0 to 7.0)
- Proactively analyze query patterns, optimize indexes, and fine-tune MongoDB/server configurations for maximum performance
- Design and implement HA solutions (replica sets) and disaster recovery (DR) plans to ensure 99.99% uptime and low RTO/RPO
- Identify operational patterns, create automation scripts, and convert manual runbooks into executable tools
