A Fabricator Fitter is responsible for reading engineering drawings, fabricating, assembling, and fitting metal components and structures according to specifications. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication sketches.
- Measure, mark, cut, grind, drill, and shape metal materials.
- Assemble and fit fabricated parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform tack welding or coordinate with welders for final welding (if required).
- Check dimensions and ensure all components meet design specifications.
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as cutting machines, grinders, drilling machines, and other workshop tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following company safety procedures.
- Repair or modify metal structures and equipment when required.
- Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and team members to complete projects on time.
Required Skills
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as measuring tape, vernier caliper, and steel rule.
- Good understanding of fabrication and fitting techniques.
- Familiarity with workshop tools and machinery.
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Good physical fitness and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Fitter, Fabrication, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Relevant experience in fabrication and fitting is an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Factory, workshop, or construction site environment.
- May require overtime and shift work depending on project requirements.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, helmet, and eye protection is mandatory.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
