Department - Production / Project Planning & Control (PPC)
Location - Satara, Maharashtra
Reporting To - Head – Production / Director – Operations
Educational Qualification - B.E./B.Tech in Production / Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Heavy Engineering Manufacturing.
- Experience in Production Planning & Control (PPC), Fabrication, Heavy Equipment Manufacturing and Project Management.
- Experience in handling Nuclear, Power, Oil & Gas, Refinery and Process Equipment projects.
Technical Skills
- SAP
- MS Project
- AutoCAD
- CATIA V5
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Control
- Prepare overall production plans based on customer delivery schedules.
- Develop monthly, weekly and daily production plans.
- Monitor production progress and ensure on-time completion of projects.
- Optimize machine utilization, manpower deployment and production capacity.
Project Planning
- Prepare project schedules using MS Project.
- Track project milestones and monitor critical activities.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Production, QA/QC and Dispatch departments.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
Manufacturing Operations
- Monitor fabrication, machining, assembly and testing activities.
- Ensure production is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Review productivity and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure timely availability of materials, consumables and resources.
Resource Management
- Plan manpower deployment according to project priorities.
- Optimize utilization of machines, tools and equipment.
- Monitor contractor manpower and shop-floor productivity.
Customer & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with customers, consultants and third-party inspection agencies.
- Participate in project review meetings.
- Coordinate with suppliers for material availability and inspection schedules.
Cost & Budget Control
- Monitor project budgets and manufacturing costs.
- Reduce production losses and improve resource utilization.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.
Production Monitoring & Reporting
- Review daily production reports.
- Track schedule adherence and delivery commitments.
- Prepare MIS reports for management review.
- Monitor KPIs related to productivity, quality and delivery.
Continuous Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.
- Improve production processes and workflow.
- Support digitalization and automation initiatives.
- Drive productivity improvement projects.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
- Ensure compliance with ASME Codes, customer specifications and project requirements.
- Promote safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure adherence to statutory and company safety policies.
