MD/DNB with 5+ years of experience to apply only
1. To promote and develop multidisciplinary teamwork within the specialty and will communicate effectively with all agencies and personnel involved in providing services.
2. To develop protocols for the establishment and monitoring of standards of care and reviewing effectiveness of practice in the light of available evidence and recommended guidelines.
3. Interviewing patients to determine their complaints and symptoms, discern their overall condition, and learn their medical history.
4. Conduct assessments and diagnostic tests or blood tests to determine the cause of the symptoms.
5. Usage of all necessary medical equipment and know sanitation and sterilization techniques.
6. To participate in the annual Consultant appraisal in accord with hospital guidelines.
7. To undertake administrative duties associated with patient care.
8. Applying medical knowledge and skills to the diagnosis, prevention and management of disease.
9. Examining patients, to take proper medical histories.
10. In liaison with other staff, ensure that all radiotherapeutic equipment are operated in a safe and accurate manner and that they are correctly maintained.
11. Maintain effective working relationships with other staff in therapy i.e. radiographers, medical physicist.
12. Ensure that the resources made available to radiotherapy services are utilised in an effective and efficient manner within the financial constraints of the Oncology Centre.
13. Prescribe correct/proper/appropriate medications; and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
14. Counseling patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.
15. To work as a member of the consultant team, will assist with the development and implementation of systems under clinical and social care governance that ensure the quality of the service offered by the Hospital.
16. To participate in clinical audit activities to improve the services of the hospital.
17. To ensure that practice is up to date; this will necessitate the consultant taking responsibility for their clinical professional development and participating in the hospital’s performance and annual review system.
18. To share responsibility for data protection arising out of the use of computers, and to maintain good practice in the handling of confidential information.
19. To be accountable for improving and complying with infection control practices.
