Job Summary:
The BID / Tender Engineer (LEAD) is responsible for preparing technical and commercial tenders, coordinating with vendors to obtain input for bid submissions, estimating project costs, and ensuring compliance with client and authority requirements. The role supports pre-bid planning, documentation, and proposal development for infrastructure, RAILWAYS & construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Tendering Responsibilities:
- Analyze tender documents, drawings, BOQ, and technical specifications.
- Prepare technical submissions, compliance statements, and method statements.
- Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, and finance teams.
- Prepare cost estimates, rate analysis, and quantity take-offs.
- Identify project risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and respond to client queries.
- Maintain tender documentation and submission deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical or associated Engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in tendering especially in Govt. Projects.
- Experience in infrastructure / railway / commercial projects preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation and rate analysis.
- Knowledge of EPC contracts and tender procedures.
- Familiarity with government and private sector tenders such as:
- Indian Railways
- Airports / Ports
- IIT / NIT / Govt. building projects
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and estimation skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination ability.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Key Deliverables:
- Complete and accurate tender submission.
- BOQ and cost estimation sheets.
- Technical compliance matrix.
- Risk register.
