Hiring: Showroom Manager — Natural Handicrafts, Udaipur
Full-time, on-site.
Natural Handicrafts is a Marble design studio based in Udaipur, established in 1996. We design and produce hand-carved marble and stone work for architects, hospitality projects, HNI clients, and international buyers. We have a four-floor experience centre, and we are looking for the person who will manage it — end to end.
This is not a sales job. It is a command role. You are responsible for every square foot of the showroom, every member of the staff, every client who walks in, and every detail a visitor sees, smells, hears, or touches. Standards are set by Us, and held by you.
What you will own:
The Floor
- Every floor of the showroom is spotless at all times — no dust, no fingerprints, no clutter, no idle product
- Every piece is displayed with intent — correctly positioned, well-lit, rotated, and merchandised across all four floors
- Anything damaged, scuffed, or out of place is fixed immediately. Lights not working? Electrician called the same hour
- Basic client hospitality — water, beverages, refreshments — is stocked and replenished without anyone asking
The Client
- Host and convert walk-ins — architects, interior designers, HNI clients, hospitality buyers, international visitors
- Greet every visitor professionally and politely
- Read the room — distinguish a serious buyer, an architect on a project visit, or a casual walk-in, and host each accordingly
- Drive showroom sales across retail, bespoke commissions, and project enquiries
- Carry the brand in how you speak, how you dress, and how you conduct yourself on the floor
The Team
- Daily discipline check — uniform, grooming, punctuality, attendance — signed off on the staff chart every morning
- Monthly written performance review for every staff member — schedule adherence, output, attitude, gaps
- Build genuine, respectful relationships with the blue-collar team. They are the backbone of this business and they should feel valued, heard, and looked after
- Zero tolerance for time-wasting, slack, or sloppiness. Decorum is maintained at all times
Operations
- Supervise loading, unloading, dispatch, and logistics of client orders
- Manage inventory, stock movement, and coordination with the studio and workshop
- Work directly with the Marketing Director and Director on client pitches and project handoffs
- The showroom is never left unattended. If the salesman is absent, you are present. You are the last person to leave — you shut the showroom, check everything, and lock up
Who we are looking for:
We are open on background. The right person matters more than the right resume.
Luxury retail, hospitality, or design-showroom experience is welcome (hotels, design showrooms, premium brands). But equally — and in some ways preferred — we are open to candidates from non-retail backgrounds who bring discipline, command, and structure: ex-Army, ex-Police, retired Principals, or anyone who has run a tight institution.
What is non-negotiable:
- Discipline. You understand the value of time and you enforce it
- Presence. Well-spoken, well-presented, formally dressed, always
- Fluent Hindi and English
- Based in Udaipur or willing to relocate
- Calm authority. You lead by standard, not by shouting
Preferred:
- Design or architecture literacy — enough to hold a conversation with an architect or designer about material, proportion, and form
- Existing relationships with architects, designers, or hospitality buyers ( Plus )
- CRM or POS experience
Hours, leave, and compensation:
- 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Occasionally extends to 8:00 PM when a client is in the showroom or work demands it. You are the last to leave
- Four paid leaves per month
- Overtime paid separately, over and above salary
- Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
