- Scope: Responsible for overseeing end-to-end retail showroom operations, driving sales performance, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, inventory control, team management, and overall business growth.
2. Role Purpose
The General Manager – Operations is responsible for managing and streamlining overall retail showroom operations across the organization.
The role focuses on achieving business targets, improving operational efficiency, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining inventory accuracy, and leading operational teams effectively.
The position plays a critical role in driving profitability, operational discipline, employee productivity, and seamless coordination between departments.
3. Key Responsibilities
A. Retail Showroom Operations
- Oversee daily retail showroom operations and ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor operational standards and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Ensure showroom cleanliness, maintenance, and operational readiness.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
B. Sales Performance & Business Growth
- Monitor sales targets and overall showroom performance.
- Develop strategies to improve sales conversion and revenue growth.
- Analyze sales reports and identify business improvement opportunities.
- Support promotional campaigns and seasonal business activities.
C. Team Management & Leadership
- Lead and manage showroom managers, department heads, and operational teams.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and operational meetings.
- Ensure employee discipline, grooming standards, and professional conduct.
- Support recruitment, training, and employee development initiatives.
D. Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock movement and inventory availability across departments.
- Ensure proper stock audits and inventory reconciliation.
- Minimize stock loss, damages, and shrinkage.
- Coordinate with warehouse and purchase teams for stock planning.
E. Customer Service & Experience
- Ensure high customer service standards across showroom operations.
- Resolve escalated customer complaints professionally.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvement measures.
- Drive customer satisfaction and retention initiatives.
F. Financial & Cost Control
- Monitor operational expenses and ensure cost control measures.
- Review showroom profitability and operational cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with accounts team for operational financial reporting.
- Support budgeting and expense monitoring activities.
G. Compliance & Process Adherence
- Ensure compliance with company operational policies and procedures.
- Maintain adherence to safety, security, and statutory requirements.
- Ensure proper implementation of SOPs and operational checklists.
- Monitor audit compliance and operational documentation.
H. Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with HR, Accounts, Inventory, Purchase, and Administration teams.
- Prepare operational MIS reports and management updates.
- Ensure timely reporting of operational performance metrics.
- Provide operational insights and recommendations to management.
