The Ophthalmologist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of eye conditions, ensuring high-quality patient care. The role includes clinical consultations, surgical procedures, and supporting hospital growth through patient satisfaction and outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Care
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose ocular conditions
- Prescribe treatments, medications, and corrective lenses
- Manage OPD and IPD patients efficiently
2. Surgical Responsibilities
- Perform ophthalmic surgeries (e.g., cataract, minor procedures)
- Ensure pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Maintain high standards of surgical outcomes and safety
3. Patient Management
- Provide clear patient counselling and treatment plans
- Handle emergency eye cases when required
- Ensure patient satisfaction and ethical practice
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate medical records and case sheets
- Follow hospital protocols, NABH standards, and legal requirements
5. Team Coordination
- Work closely with optometrists, nurses, and support staff
- Guide and train junior staff when required
6. Outreach & Camps
- Participate in eye camps and community outreach programs
- Support awareness initiatives and hospital promotion
Qualifications
- MBBS with MS/MD/DNB in Ophthalmology
- Valid Medical Council Registration
Experience
- 1–5+ years ( experienced candidates can apply)
Skills Required
- Strong clinical and surgical skills
- Good communication and patient handling ability
- Ethical and patient-focused approach
