Position Overview
Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Nagapattinam invites applications from creative, passionate, and dedicated educators for the post of PRT – Art & Craft. The ideal candidate should possess a deep love for visual arts, creativity, and hands-on learning, with the ability to nurture imagination and aesthetic sense in young learners, aligned with the value-based ethos of Chinmaya Vidyalaya.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Instruction:
Teach Art & Craft for primary classes (Classes I–V), introducing students to drawing, coloring, painting, paper craft, and basic design concepts.
Skill Development:
Encourage fine motor skills, creativity, and self-expression through structured and free-hand artistic activities.
Activity-Based Learning:
Plan and conduct engaging, age-appropriate art projects using a variety of materials such as paper, clay, fabric, and recyclable items.
Curriculum Planning:
Design innovative lesson plans, craft activities, and seasonal/art-integrated projects aligned with school curriculum and themes.
Art Appreciation:
Introduce students to basic elements of art (color, shape, texture) and simple exposure to Indian art forms and cultural crafts.
Assessment & Feedback:
Evaluate students based on creativity, effort, and participation; provide encouraging and constructive feedback.
Display & Presentation:
Organize classroom and school displays, exhibitions, and boards showcasing students’ artwork.
Value Integration:
Incorporate cultural values, environmental awareness (reuse, recycle), and creativity through art-based learning.
Event Participation:
Assist in school events, celebrations, and competitions by contributing creative designs, stage décor, and student participation.
Parental Engagement:
Communicate with parents regarding students’ creative development and participation in activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
Degree/Diploma in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or related field with a B.Ed. (preferred).
Experience:
2–5 years of teaching experience in Art & Craft at the primary level (CBSE/Matriculation background preferred). Freshers with strong artistic skills may also be considered.
Skills:
- Strong artistic and creative abilities
- Good communication skills in English
- Ability to handle young children with patience and enthusiasm
- Knowledge of various art techniques and craft methods
