Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive surgical consultation, evaluation, and management of patients with various types of cancers.
- Conduct OPD consultations and pre-operative assessment of oncology patients.
- Plan and perform appropriate oncological surgical procedures based on the patient's diagnosis, stage, and clinical condition.
- Perform major and complex cancer surgeries as per clinical expertise and specialization.
- Ensure appropriate pre-operative planning, surgical intervention, and post-operative management.
- Manage surgical oncology emergencies and post-operative complications.
- Coordinate with Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, Radiology, and other specialties for multidisciplinary cancer care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary Tumor Board meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
- Conduct regular post-operative rounds and ensure continuity of patient care.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding surgical procedures, treatment options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
- Provide clinical guidance and supervision to junior doctors and residents.
- Maintain accurate patient records, operative notes, treatment plans, and clinical documentation.
- Follow evidence-based surgical protocols, hospital policies, patient-safety standards, and NABH requirements.
- Maintain high standards of professional ethics, surgical safety, and patient-centered care.
Candidate Profile
- M.Ch. in Surgical Oncology from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of post-M.Ch experience as a Surgical Oncologist.
- Strong expertise in the surgical management of cancer patients.
- Experience in major and complex oncological surgeries will be preferred.
- Good understanding of multidisciplinary cancer treatment and evidence-based surgical oncology practices.
- Excellent clinical decision-making, surgical skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates with experience in reputed multispecialty/super-specialty or cancer hospitals will be preferred.
