As a part of the Strategic Research team in Knowledge Services function of MMIPL, the candidate will support the Global Credit Specialty team with in-depth research that enables the assessment of potential political risks and their impact on business operations, investments, and strategies. These include end products that support business planning, political risk reports, country risk reports, client insights packs and detailed industry and risk research.

We will count on you to:
Conducting in-depth research, resulting in production of forward-looking qualitative country risk and quantitative scores and industry analysis with insights on political risk factors and their impact on the operational, investment, and trading landscape.
Monitoring and curating sector-specific content tailored to clients operating in various industries such as banking, commodity trading, mining, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, power, and renewables with primary focus on emerging markets.
Creating company intelligence reports to support client stewardship and prospect engagement.
Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather relevant data and intelligence for analysis.
Staying updated on global political trends, regulatory frameworks, and industry-specific dynamics to enhance the accuracy and relevance of risk assessment.
Thinking beyond the headlines to understand and communicate what comes next and what risks exist around the corner.
Developing a strong understanding of Marsh’s credit product lines including trade credit, surety, and structured credit and drive meaningful conversations with stakeholders.
Invest in understanding our business thoroughly.

What you need to have:
Masters / Bachelors in Political Sciences, International Affairs or similar, or Economics / equivalent post-graduation certification from a reputed institute.
3-5 years minimum of experience in strategic research, at a leading professional services / market intelligence / research firm / credit rating agency / investment bank, preferably having exposure of working on country and political risk assessments.
Deep understanding and interest in tracking political environments and an ability to understand the impact of political trends on the economy and businesses.
An insatiable desire to learn about and consume more information about the world around you, including from a range of different perspectives.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving attributes.
Excellent communication skills- the ability to speak and write effectively and without errors in business English.
Strong commitment to absorb and engage in feedback discussions and enhancing own knowledge and quality of end products.
Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office – PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Exposure to commercial databases such as S&P Cap IQ, Factiva, Global Data, A.M Best Insurance service etc.

Degree in foreign policy/international relations/economics/public policy
Certificate in insurance such as Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)
Exposure to working in global settings across various time zones
Experience in risk advisory or insurance / re-insurance related research or advisory support in related verticals
