About the Role
AKF Life Style Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a creative and proactive Ethnic Designer cum Sourcing Executive to join our design and merchandising team. The ideal candidate should possess strong design aesthetics, in-depth knowledge of ethnic wear trends, fabrics, embellishments, and vendor sourcing. The role requires balancing creative design with efficient sourcing to ensure timely product development and cost-effective procurement.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Product Development
- Research and forecast latest ethnic fashion trends, colors, silhouettes, fabrics, and embellishments.
- Develop seasonal collections for women's ethnic wear including kurtis, suits, co-ord sets, dresses, fusion wear, and festive collections.
- Prepare mood boards, concept presentations, and design sketches.
- Create detailed tech packs with measurements, trims, embroidery placements, and construction details.
- Coordinate with sampling teams to ensure design execution as per specifications.
- Review and approve samples for fit, quality, and aesthetics.
Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Source fabrics, trims, laces, embroidery materials, prints, and accessories from reliable suppliers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with fabric mills, manufacturers, printers, and artisans.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards with vendors.
Production Coordination
- Monitor product development timelines from concept to production.
- Work closely with merchandising, production, quality, and buying teams.
- Ensure timely approvals of fabrics, trims, and production samples.
- Resolve sourcing or production challenges proactively.
Market Research
- Conduct competitor analysis and market surveys.
- Visit exhibitions, sourcing fairs, and local markets to identify new trends and materials.
- Maintain awareness of customer preferences and evolving fashion trends.
- Identify new sourcing opportunities to optimize cost without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with vendors for sample development and bulk production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ethnic wear designing and sourcing.
- Experience working with manufacturers, exporters, or ethnic fashion brands will be preferred.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
