Job Summary
The Restaurant Greeter is the first point of contact for guests and sets the tone for their entire dining experience. This role requires a warm, welcoming individual who can manage guest flow, handle reservations, and maintain an organized front-of-house environment with a high level of hospitality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Hospitality: Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, open doors, assist with coats or bags if necessary, and provide a sincere thank-you and farewell when they leave.
- Seating & Table Management: Escort guests to their tables, present menus, introduce the server, and manage the seating chart fairly to ensure an even distribution of tables among serving staff.
- Reservation & Waitlist Management: Monitor the reservation system, take accurate phone reservations, manage the walk-in waitlist, and provide realistic wait-time estimates to guests.
- Communication: Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff regarding large parties, special requests, dietary restrictions, and table turnover status.
- Lobby Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable front entrance, lobby, and host station. Ensure menus are clean and properly stocked.
- Inquiry Handling: Answer incoming phone calls, answer general questions about the menu, hours, and location, and direct specific inquiries to management.
